My new blog and website are live!!!
Please, go check it out. Also, if you'd be so kind, go ahead and change any bookmarks to link to the new site.
Most of the posts here have been transferred over (no the comments though) and I'll leave this site up for a little while.
Well... besides regular posts (bad me)?
Writing chit chat? How to's, Industry stuff, writers and books I like.
Career progress? Things like what I'm writing, whats sold, struggles with a promotional plan, how proposals are going.
Life stuff? You know, the weather, kids, exersise and weight loss progress (hahahaha as if).
My hobbies? Scrapbooking, Tarot, Affirmations.
Gossip? My obsession with Johnny, bits and pieces of other stars I love to read about.
My new site launches this weekend, and I'm really wanting to keep the blog relevent and of interest to readers. So - What'd be YOUR reason to read the blog?
Which of these would you want to see (no limit) or any others?
I have a million excuses for not blogging lately.
Writers block (it sucks)
School started (we homeschool, which means I'm super busy)
My new website is due to go live anytime now, and I keep figuring I'll just wait for that to post again (tut tut tut, thats a really bad excuse, isn't it?)
but the best excuse? The one I'm most excited about?
I have a new niece. She's gorgeous, with a full head of curly dark hair, dimples, and the sweetest little face. I'm in love. She was born Friday Sept 8th, to her proud Daddy, gorgeous Mommy and two of the coolest brothers in the world (barring my own, of course).
Now I'm busting butt to finish the scrapbook I've been dawdling on making as her baby gift/baby book, and trying to finish my proposal so I can send it to my CPs and get their stamp of approval before I schlep it off to my agent next week.
But all I can think of is baby cuddles, and wanting to hold that little angel.

its just not worth getting out of bed.
Seriously. I was scheduled to work today, but then things went topsy turvy and the day was cancelled. There were health crises, child dramas and writing excitement. The ups and downs had my head spinning and my stress levels flying sky-high.
So- whats a woman to do when she's stressed to the max? Pedicure, of course. My daughters and I went off with the promise of the relaxing pleasure of soaking our tootsies and the visual delight of purty painted toes.
Except it didn't turn out that way.
The nail salon was packed, although they took us right in, my toes soaked for over a half hour before the pampering began. And you youngest daughter (not getting a pedicure but supposed to be reading like an angel with the promise of Ice-Cream-To-Come) was a PITA -which honestly, is unusual. She's a good kid, very funny, very self-entertained. I think my stress had transferred to her. The whole experience just slid down hill to the point that the knots in my shoulders had new knots by the time we were done.
Finally, gorgeous deep-purple toes with a sweet white flower, later, and we leave. Getting into the car, I get a call on my cell with a health emergency of a dear friend. And my daughter steps on my toe.
Bless the oldest daughter - she got home, found a matching color polish, and fixed it so you couldn't even tell.
Tonight, I slammed my foot into the desk, and chipped it again.
Every figure some things just weren't meant to be???
I signed my contract yesterday - boy did it feel good. I got to sign it with the gorgeous purple pen my PlayPals got me (engraved with my title and sale date), which made it even that much more special.

![]() | ROFL - I love it! I snagged this from my friend Terri's blog (she's James Bond) and without a clue what superheroes I might end up being (well, other than James Bond, obviously) I took the test. The only question I stumbled on was "Are sandals the ultimate footwear" because, while I have a serious shoe fetish and LOVE a cool pair of sandals - to me, Boots are the absolute ultimate!
You scored as Captain Jack Sparrow. Roguish,quick-witted, and incredibly lucky, Jack Sparrow is a pirate who sometimes ends up being a hero, against his better judgement. Captain Jack looks out for #1, but he can be counted on (usually) to do the right thing. He has an incredibly persuasive tongue, a mind that borders on genius or insanity, and an incredible talent for getting into trouble and getting out of it. Maybe its brains, maybe its genius, or maybe its just plain luck. Or maybe a mixture of all three.
So - which action hero would YOU be? |
Did you watch the Emmy's last night?
I don't, as a rule, watch TV. But I love awards hows- its so cool to see the dresses (hits AND misses) and fancy hair. I'm such a girly girl.
But the winner in this case isn't for a TV show, its for this lovely pair of hand-painted margarita glasses...

Congratulations to Ann McGee!!!!
Try the strawberry margarita recipe -it rocks!!!

oooh, how I wish I could see what image popped into everyone's mind when they read that LOL
What kind of naughty toys popped into YOUR head?
Seriously - I got a phone headset. The kind that will let me talk and run on the treadmill, talk and do gardening without skewering myself with rose thorns, talk and do housework (stop laughing), talk and not get a crick in my neck trying to scrapbook at the same time. So -generally, making it easier for me to talk.
My husband wanted to know if he could order fries and a shake when he saw it <snicker>
I blame Sheila and Stacey (and not only because they don't read the blog and won't know I blamed them
) because somewhere in the course of our timer/plotting phone session, someone had the brilliant idea for all three of us to be on the treadmill while we talked out career stuff, plot stuff and other stuff. Its really hard to treadmill and hold a phone (I swear, I don't hold the handles -its just a balance thing)
So... tomorrow I have a date at 1:00 to hit the treadmill with my new headset and pals. The same smart ass that suggested we treadmill together claimed I could run tomorrow.
Wanna bet I regret opening my big mouth?
If I were to choose an author whose path I'd love to follow, who's writing I admire more than anyone else... it'd be Vicki Lewis Thompson. She's amazing. Both as an author, and as a person.
Vicki was the first person to congratulate me on my sale and has been incredibly generous in her encouragement and kind words over the years.
So- here is my favorite picture of conference.
